Love Affair Workshop 2010

It was an AMAZING week spent in Dallas at the Love Affair Workshop. I learned so much from 4 of the best in the business. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and I am so thankful I was able to attend. I spent the week, completely awestruck, observing and learning from Kelly Moore Clark, Millie Holloman, Lauren Clark and Davina Fear. These women were simply amazing, fun and down to earth. We had a chance to have models to shoot and our images critiqued. Being a family photographer, I choose a family to shoot. I was able to shoot a wonderful family that was very patient to have 6 photographers in their faces, in the unbearable Dallas heat. I completely stepped out of my box and had a blast. Thanks to the Love Affair Ladies for changing my life...I'm ready to begin a new journey with a passion...

Not a Blogger!

Can you say that I lack the motivation to update my blog? I believe I wasn't cut out for this. Well over a year has gone by. My life couldn't have been more on a roller coaster. I don't know that I can realistically do this blog thing...I'm not sure anyone reads them anyway. Who knows...

What has been going on? Well too much to type, I know that. Maybe I'll just post some of the pics I've done over the past 1 1/2 years...

The Mease Family...with a new addition of corse.

The New Name

I've had a few people ask about my name change, so I felt the need to let everyone know. I would have loved to use my name for my business. However, in trying to purchase a domain name, I found out that Jennifer White was very popular. In fact, it was too popular. I needed to move on and it was quite the struggle.

After many, many months of trying to think of something, a friend of mine gave me some good advise that just made the name pop into my head. She said that I should try to focus on the style of photography I'm interested in and come up with a name based on that. Well, I love doing maternity, hence the pickles....however, I feel that I'm interested in doing much more....pearls, in my opinion, shows a sign of maturity and class. So, my thoughts....Pickles to Pearls...and everything in between.

So there you have it....

I've Been Published!!

I was very excited to find out that one of my photos was selected to be published in the Washington DC version of Schmap. My photo was selected, from my Flickr photostream about a month ago, for their short list to be in their August issue. I was notified by their managing editor that I was selected and needed to let them know if it was something I was interested in. Well isn't that what any aspiring photographer would want...to be published...of course I agreed. I honestly didn't think I got picked because of all the time that past. They said August issue and here it is mid August already. I was pleasantly surprised to open my email this morning and find that I was, indeed, selected. Below is the photo that was selected and the link to publication. To the right is a sidebar of Schmap Washington DC.

Summer of Babes

Well, this summer has been so crazy here...with buying a new house, moving ourselves and trying to get settled, I've had little to no time for photography. I did manage to get a few shoots in with 2 sets of friends that were first time parents. Both had boys...Oran Lee Waller and Michael Regner. It was a great experience for me with my new adventure...my first two newborn shoots. I learned a lot...like it is harder than it looks and the even though the pictures look as if these tiny little babes were peaceful...they weren't always...it takes time and patients. And the understanding that at this age...POOP happens! :) I had a great time and hope that the photos bring lasting memories to both families.

Growing Boy

Is it sad that I'm posting pictures of my dog now? I'm mad I tell you. I love him! He is so cute and I swear he is more willing to pose for the camera than my kiddos. He is getting big quickly, so I'm taking as many pictures as I can. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do...
